Greetings to ALL of the FANS of the California Independent Film Festival!

The California Independent Film Festival, CIFF, along with the Bunjo Comedy Club, co-sponsored a Comedy Night Show on June 28th, 2009. It was a night to remember in the history of CIFF as it was well attended, full of laughter, and a very successful fundraising event.

This show is a novelty on its own. Four of our members, Derek Zemrak, Chad Caines, Jon Bogert, and Beau Behan took the gruelling task of becoming comedians for the evening-- a feat that none of these brave souls has ever done before in their entire lives, especially, doing the comedy in front of a live audience.

We definitely struck a chord with so many people that warrants the possibility of having "Part Deux". In fact, there is now a buzz that other members of CIFF would like to participate next time.

In the meantime, due to popular demand from members and fans who were not able to come see the show, we are assessing the possibility of making this request happen.

For the month of June, 2009, we have also slated and opened the first CIFF Gong Show at the Vine Cinema, and we have received numerous e-mails from here and abroad, applauding and marveling at this event. The concept is a by-product of the 1970's Gong Show, only this time, if the moviegoers find that the movie is not their cup of tea, then they can run down and "gong" it, and the movie stops.

What a way to spend one of your evenings---a definite "MUST" for everyone to enjoy one of CIFF's fun-filled events! So, come and join us in our next Gong Show Night on Aug 19th, 2009 7PM at the Vine Cinema in downtown Livermore. This will be a special “Award Winning Short Films Night”! Come see the award winning independent films from around the world!

The Vine Cinema, is now one of the rarest gems in the valley. People no longer need to go afar in order to watch an indie film. It is now an art-independent movie house. We are proud and excited about it!

Throughout the history of the California Independent Film Festival, it has been made prominent with the acronym of CIFF. We intend to keep publicising this fact, and keep using it. However, since buzz words do create an impact and impression especially in this day-and-age of cyberspace, we need a new address in the internet. As a result, we now have www.caiff.org. Its conception was brought upon by the fact that we want our internet buzz word to be short, sweet and easy to remember. Unfortunately, we could not secure www.ciff.org, as it was already taken. With the advent of www.caiff.org, we have also now raised awareness in our community that CAIFF is an anagram for fun and great independent films!
