Greetings to ALL of the FANS of the California Independent Film Festival!

The Board of the California Independent Film Festival Association announces that the 2010 Film Festival will be held in Orinda, California on April 22nd through the 25th. The festival in its 12th season has enjoyed 7 seasons in Livermore. The Board wishes to thank everyone associated during the last 7 years for their hard work, dedication and commitment to bringing the festival to life each year. The time has come for a new venue with the historic Orinda Theatre being the backdrop for the annual event.

The Board is confident that with this move closer to Oakland, Walnut Creek and a Bart ride from San Francisco, the festival will continue to survive in these tough economic times. The needs to retool and adjust to the economic realities have been a yearly effort for the Board and all those concerned. We enter this arrangement in Orinda with hopes for the festival to continue to bring quality films and filmmakers from around the globe into the San Francisco East Bay area. In association with a much focused independent film group in Orinda, local businesses, government and community support, the environment is ripe for the festival's success in the new venue.

Directed by "The Master of Suspense", Alfred Hitchcock!

Spoiled socialite and notorious practical joker Melanie Daniels (Tippi Hedren) is shopping in a San Francisco pet store when she meets Mitch Brenner (Rod Taylor). Mitch is looking to buy a pair of love birds for his young sister's birthday; he recognizes Melanie but pretends to mistake her for an assistant. She decides to get her own back by buying the birds and driving up to the quiet coastal town of Bodega Bay, where Mitch spends his weekends with his sister and mother. Shortly after she arrives, Melanie is attacked by a gull, but this is just the start of a series of attacks by an increasing number of birds.
