The 11th Annual California Film Festival Gala Night will be held at the Blackhawk Museum on April 18th, 2009. This year’s Lifetime Achievement Awardee is Ms Dianne Ladd, a recipient of numerous awards in television and motion pictures, and a three-time Oscar nominee. Derek Zemrak, Founder and President of the California Independent Film Festival, states “over our 11 year history, CIFF has honored some of Hollywood’s greatest, including Tony Curtis, Martin Landau, Rita Moreno, and Cloris Leachman, and this year, it is an honor to add Ms. Ladd to the list of honorees. This year’s Gala is going to be spectacular.”
Hailed by Time’s Magazine writer Richard Corliss as “one of the top ten actresses not only in this country, but the whole world.”, Ms Ladd received a Golden Globe for her television role in the sitcom, “Alice”; a British Academy Award for her role in the motion picture, “Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore”, coupled with an Oscar nomination.
